How do I get my boyfriend to spend quality time with me and pick up after himself?
My boyfriend and I have been dating for 2 years now, and we have had our ups and downs, but the two main problems that I have with him is getting him to spend some quality time with me and cleaning up after himself. When it comes to quality time everything else seems to be more important ~ video games, bowling, friends, school… and it takes begging or getting upset for him to get up and show some affection. By that time he is upset as well and it never goes well. He is constantly negative and believes that “women are evil” because of his bad past…so it takes a lot. Secondly, he is a slob and will leave his dishes, trash, and clothes everywhere which in the end I end up picking up. I have tried to speak with him, but it seems to go in one ear and out the other, and it does not help that his mother enforces the behavior by being his slave. I have my downfalls as well, but I have no clue how to fix this and I am at the end of my rope.
Truth of the matter is that we can’t change others but we can change the way we see things. Love usually cures everything. So be understanding and show him love.
Also, the outside world is only a mirror of the inside of us. Look deep within to see where you are like your boyfriend and change those qualities in yourself.
